Shea butter is fat extracted from the nut of the shea trees native to West Africa. It is usually ivory in color when raw, with more processed versions being white in color. It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion with exceptional healing properties for the skin.
Shea butter is classified into classes A, B, C and F, the class A is the premium shea butter while class F is of poor quality moisturizer.
